Oma’s Garden, Part 2

Around the House

Crooked adds character, right?

View toward the lake.

Heavenly lilacs

Looking the other direction, across the valley and next ridge.

Oma’s Garden

Spring

As promised here are views of Oma’s garden in spring bloom.

She likes her small figures. These are on the porch by the front door.

May blooms, the view from the entry porch down the driveway.

Rhododendron season. Some are just starting, and some are done. These line the walkways on the property perimeter.

Don’t we love these happy faces?

Part Two to follow. (And a Medieval Festival coming Up.)

A Walk

On Sunday

On the way to dinner on Mothers Day, this Oma and granddaughter enjoyed the flowers in the neighborhood.

There were quite a lot more beautiful flowers, but this Oma’s hand was captured by a little miss who hadn’t seen Oma for over a month, and the rest of our group were wondering why we were taking so long.

Somebody Else’s Roses

Yes

More roses today. A lady decided she didn’t want to take them along on her trip to another canton - probably by train - so she offered them to my Better Half, who gave them to me. Would you take roses on a train? I think I would; at least these.

Pictures of gardens still to come.

Happy Mother’s Day

To All the Mamas

🌺You are blessed. I hope you will be honored today. 🌸

In a gift from one of my offspring was this pretty handmade box.

Coming soon…. Oma’s garden in May.

Wangen, Again

Anniversary

Our first-born and husband celebrate their second wedding anniversary today. We went to Wangen, in Germany (again) for church: old, old liturgical German.

Afterward, we four went to the Mohren-Post, again, as we did the last time we visited, for a nice dinner to mark the day.
It is asparagus season in Germany, so we indulged.

Zander on linguine, preceded by an asparagus salad topped with strawberries.

…Mit Wiener Schnitzel

And a little walk in the environs afterward, to aid digestion, before the long drive home.

April showers bring May flowers

We saw these fellows again.

The River walk outside the old city walls

Then homeward bound before the thunderstorm hits. It was warm and summery today, a thunderstorm‘s favorite weather.

Roses for Recuperation

Red, Red

Better Half came home with a bouquet in honor of my recovery from a long and nasty cough and congestion that I had in the States and brought back with me. Recovery for roses? I ll do that.
Happy May Flowers.

Happy May

Mat Day is…

Labor Day in European cities: workers unite, and let’s break windows. Basically Communist Day.

Lei Day in Hawaii 🎵 🌺

Time for dancing around Maypoles in historic towns, to celebrate spring and young love and the end of winter’s doldrums.

Two weeks until the Ice Saints and the official start of the garden season.

The trees are getting a head start. Pictures from yesterday’s walk (complete with finger over lens by someone with a new phone, who is still still getting used to using it).
