When Jesus is Manifest As God

Fitting for our current time.

With a very reduced family size, we celebrated Epiphany: Last lighting of the Christmas tree, a devotion, singing of “We Three Kings” interspersed with readings on the threefold offices of Christ, then the Kings’ bread and Crowning of “King.” My Better Half got the king this year.

In these times of unrest, may we rest in the manifestation of Christ’s almighty power and wisdom.

It’s a Holiday

In parts of Alamannic (old German) Switzerland this day is a social day, or was before socializing was outlawed “for our safety.” The name comes from the verb berchten, meaning to “walk around, asking for food.” So, you hereby have permission to do the same. Enjoy.

Christmas Cards and Letters usually trickle in long past Christmas, especially this year with very slow mail. 

Note the one from Christkindl, a town in Austria. A sweet relative “around seven corners” (not a close relative) took the trouble to go to this town to get us this postmark.
