We enter the next festival season today: the Epiphany of our Lord, in which His divinity is reveal to the world, starting with the visit of the Wise Men.
In our house, we celebrate on this day with an evening service, the Last lighting of the Christmas tree, singing of “We There Kings” with catechism readings on the three offices of Christ, and then the discovery and crowning of the year’s “King.”
The Wise Men bring their gifts and worship to the King.
Last lighting of the tree
Going.....
Hmm, really trying.....
Going......
Last candle burning, center toward bottom.....
Gone.
Then, because we had no official Kings Bread, for sundry reasons, this year, we used this cake. The Head of the house got the king and was crowned, most appropriately.
Blessed Epiphany to All.
