The House is Ready for Christmas

It took me several days, working all by myself, to get the house decorated in time for a Christmas party I am hosting this Saturday for my extended family of siblings.

Like Sarah, I prefer garlands of greens around the windows. I also put them above my kitchen cabinets with large pinecones. (Take a look also at the brand new range gracing my kitchen! It's Italian!)

This dining room wall has become my quilt display. I switched out the music quilt for this old one that reminds me of a poinsetta flower for Christmas.

My angel collection is displayed under the photos of our family's little "angels".

This is the first Christmas with our newly remodeled living room. I decided to arrange the village on the bookcase so that it would be at eye level for the little people that come here.

There is much going on in the Christmas village including a new bridal couple, a violinist, a baker, a car mechanic's garage, an ice cream shop, a bookseller....

The expanded size of the room makes it possible to comfortably have our tree displayed without blocking the exit door.

Ready for party guests! Now to make the food.....

We have snow on the ground this morning.

  1. Oh, Pam, your house is gorgeous! I love it all, but especially your quilts. That poinsettia one is amazing. And your angel collection is enviable.
So, lovely. Enjoy your party today.
