Today we went to Maria‘s chalet at the foot of the Säntis, to help with some things. Afterward, we took a walk across high moorlands, up and down slopes, and through lovely conifer woods, to the Schwägalp hotel-restaurant. We had a fine lunch of local foods, and a good walk back. The highlight for me was the Säntis Post Kutsche there when we arrived. It was pulled by five excellent horses.

What one eats at the Säntis -
This is open all year round, for hiking, skiing, military training, cable car rides up to the peak, summer motorcyclists, seminars, weddings, and coach rides.
Then, on our way down the mountain, driving back to our place, we saw the coach in action.
Note the hairpins curves going down. The harness breaching was in use.
They were greeted.
Even horses (one per herd) wear bells in the mountains, so one can find them, if they get loose.
Eventually we passed them, to continue winding our way down.
It was a fine day.
