We went to a notable museum of masterworks. They are worth seeing, so I will give you a virtual tour of the highlights.
Early Dutch work. Parable of the unmerciful servant. The king is on the right. The forgiving scene is the background. The outfits are a mix of the then fashions and a Middle Eastern -garbed king.
A portrait by M. Van Mierveld, Delft. Dutch. Gorgeous textures.
A small work. Landscape with Animals. Jan van Kessel.
Still Life, de Heem, 1545

“The Dissolute Household,” Bible trampled underfoot, a beggar turned away, and jolly for now, but not for long. By Jan Steen, 1660
A life sized Dutch still life. Jan Janssen den Uhl, 1635
“The Sons of Marshal Ney,” by Marie-Eleonore Godefroot, 1810, Paris, The biggest boy has his father’s parade sword, a gift from Napoleon.
This is a detail from a very large work of “ The Marriage of Cupid and Psyche” The doves are pulling a chariot with a goddess in it; presumably one who is light as a feather for love.
And some Madonnas and Child works. These are very large.
And the jolliest Christ Child you’ve ever seen. From a medieval altar. Carved wood.
Aaaaa
I like the one of the children :D
