Out of Polymer Clay
These are small faces, about two inches, for a planned project. They need to be baked and coloured before use.
Fall is Arriving
As of this week the leaves are starting to fall. We are thankful here not to have fires or floods or hurricanes. Prayers for rain for the north and drying for the south and being spared from storms for the coasts. (And a good birth for the little one.)

Looking across a neighbour's garden to a corn field ready for harvest. |
|
Here in this country the whole corn field - stalks, leaves, and cobs - is cut, chopped, and used as feed. |
|
The corn was just starting to dry, and the coons and crows have been feasting heavily. On my night dog walk I would see a family of racoons toddle across the road into the corn for their supper. They were so regular and used the exact same route each time that there is now a little path up the bank into the field. |

Harvest is done with enormous machines, one of which cuts and chops and blows the result into a wagon that is pulled along side. Two tractors take turns running back and forth to the farm in the neighbouring town, so the process is very efficient. The whole field was finished in an hour. Think of the work it would have taken before machines: weeks' worth. |
End of Summer Flowers
And soon autumn will be here officially and the trees will turn colors. Already the Rot Hirsch bulls are starting their fall bellowing.
Thank you for your prayers!
ReplyDeleteAlso what's your favorite flower?
Of these? The neon pink geranium.
ReplyDeleteOf any flower, maybe an iris, or rose.
Thanks for the post! And the prayers.
ReplyDeleteI've been baking cake and cookies to take to the fairgrounds where 800-1000 firefighters are gathered. Very smoky here but no imminent danger.
Blessings on you, Pam.
