She is "ein klassisches deutsches Reitpony," (that's a breed here), a long yearling, her color is called "Windfarbe" ( a dilute black gene, so a type of dun), and she tiny and very refined. She has a good start on handling, except with back feet, and is unflappable as a walking pony, which is her lot in life now. I like her. Her registered name is Melissa von Katzenrütihof, which is obviously too big for her, so we are discussing names.
We decided to call her Maloja, pronounced Mah-LOH-yah, after a small, pretty mountain pass in Graubünden. For short she's called Mally, which is close to Melly and also reminiscent of a cat so a nod to Kitty de Winter from The Three Musketeers, of whom Arthos was a member... Yeah, a lot of references.
OH, how beautiful!!! Such a cutie! More details, please!!

ReplyDeleteAwww... Love the German names. You could just shorten her name to something better for "working days" like "Melly"...
