Omega
The Greek letter Omega is the last of the alphabet. It is the
conclusion, beyond which is no more. Nothing is added to the sequence
from that end. Our Savior is called not only the Alpha, but also the
Omega. He is the beginning of order and meaning, and the beyond Him
there is no more. He is also the beginning and the end of our
salvation. He began it and He finished it, and beyond His work there
is no more to be done. He is the beginning and the end of all
virtues, of love and mercy and truth and faithfulness. He began Time
and He will end it. He started the world on a path to redemption and
Judgment, and He will most certainly bring it to its end. He directed
all of creation and life and events from the beginning to benefit His
people, and He will continue that direction to the end of the world.
He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega, of all
things.
Revelation 1: 8; 21: 6
