Redeemer
To redeem is to buy back or to pay the price of something or to give
the value of a thing. To be a savior to us, to all humanity, the
Christ had to pay the price of our lives with His. Our lives were
marred with sin, which a demanded a very high price for redemption:
perfection or death. Once even one sin is committed, then perfection
is never again possible, so that was not an option for any of us.
That left us with death. Eternal death was the penalty for us. So our
Redeemer, to pay that price, had to be both perfect and had to die.
He did. Now we have been bought back from sin, death and the devil.
Now death for us is a stepping stone to eternal life. There we will
get back the perfect bodies and life that mankind originally had.
Every day is one closer to that meeting with our perfect Redeemer who
paid the price for my life, and yours and everyone's.
