Spring Blooms

In the Garden

With actively chomping bugs.
The initial riot of primulas, daffodils, and forsythia are done, and now the more subtle wild flowers are appearing, with the vinca minor/SingrĂ¼eni, and a few struggling tulips.

The beginnings of the stone wall carpet.

And in the house, not subject to bugs.

This and That

Back Home

I arrived back to Switzerland in good order,

Arriving at Heathrow, London.

but still with the persistent cough and congestion that has been plaguing me for the past 2 1/2 weeks. It is much cooler here than it was in Colorado, but I can snuggle in and do (relatively) nothing for a bit.
Things are looking spring-y, and the apple trees are starting to bloom.

Better Half has been preparing himself salads of local wild greens for a spring tonic, and he made some for me. Quite tasty. If it is good for bears coming out of hibernation, it should be good for us.

Easter is still much in evidence here, and I will enjoy it until Ascension. It was refreshing to go to Easter services in churches with people and pastors, and hearty hymn singing, even if I could only croak and not join.

An Easter Day project by the new Mama for the small boys.

It made beautiful colors.

Baptism Day

Granddaughter

Today our little Miriam was received into the kingdom of God by baptism. We had a private family service followed by a reception of catered German food - as requested by the baby’s parents. Baby photos on social media are verboten, but here are few of the flavor of the day.

This cross was made by the maternal grandfather of the baby, for the wedding of the baby’s parents. It was included in the baptism as a symbol of the continuing cycle of this family’s life.

Swiss Easter chocolates found their way to the tables and went home with people.

While yesterday morning looked like this

Today was warm and sunny, and all the day was perfect.
The officiating pastor was our family chaplain in Europe, when the baby’s father (our son) was a toddler. So various circles were closed today.

And tomorrow, D.v., I board a plane for home. But I don’t arrive until about the same time the next day.

Blessed Easter. It was lovely that the baptism message connected the rebirth of baptism with the resurrection.

Christ is Risen

He is Risen Indeed.

I have no pictures, but I have news:
I am in Colorado - suddenly, and in the nick of time - and have a new granddaughter.
I have been tending grandsons.

Blessings on your Easter celebrations, today and the next 40 days.
