Ikebana 2

And …

Seen in a window today

And to savor…

Many trees are blooming in the city now, more than just forsythia.

Roses

Anniversary

This week. From my Better Half.

With April weather and glimmering sunsets

Those were yesterday, and tonight we are getting Christmasy snow, soft and fluffy. And the garden seedlings in the house are getting leggy, trying to find some sun.

Ikebana

One

These are designed to be contemplated, savored, noting the simplicity in complexity and complexity in simplicity, so I will put up one at a time.

The containers matter, the directions matter, the shadows matter.

Giardina 3

More

This is metal. From a distance….

And up close…..

Holes in metal

Sculptures combining bronze and stone

This and the next two pictures are of the Gold Award display

An actual forest walk.

Yes, the antlers are real. We asked.

The first of the Ikebana exhibits, my favorite part, which I always save to the end.
More will follow….

Giardina 2

More Pretties

A fountain of flowers.

Eagle harp fountain

Fire pot

I’d like him in my yard.

Connecting with her muse. Or something.

Wood and resin. Classes offered, if you want to learn it.

Gardens for brown thumbs.

Candles in ponds, rusty walls, hanging chains, and wicker baskets. How to be unique.

We are not sure how these were made. Seemingly not cast that way. Maybe heated, then pressed in a container?

To be continued….

Garden Show

Giardina Zurich

Spring brings the garden show: a collection of businesses providing for outdoor living and growing. The huge exhibition hall, all three floors, are filled with phenomenal collections of blooming flower beds, full size trees, garden houses, and all the accoutrements thereto.

He will make you a lavender bouquet.

What your garden table might want to look like.

Gardens need furniture.

And sculptures

What I want our garden to look like SOON.

A Judas Tree

It is much too early for these trees to be blooming outside, so think of the care and work - and lighting - to get them to this stage.

Huge! Granite! Heavy!

Flower pot, anyone?
