To the Mountains, Part Two

Arrival

In Andermatt, high in the Alps. The town is at the juncture of two crossing valleys. It is a major ski destination in the winters, but was fairly quiet at this time of year, before summer hiking season starts.

A church in town.

Old houses and new houses. Some old houses are from the 1600's.

There were a lot of bear figures. The area symbol is a bear with a cross.

This is the local version of the Bremerstadtmusikanten.

If you would like to buy a little place for yourself..... (The amounts are about the same as  $$$)

Grand views around the town.

A very old stone church built in the 1200's and still in use.

You get baptised at the entrance.

Restored in the 1940's and now protected.

That door is tiny, because people were tiny back then.

Then onward, past the town.....

......to see the landscapes.

To be continued.
