Happy October

A Sweet Surprise

So, today was pack-up-to-leave day from our quiet house, to prepare to go on our trip. That always entails a LOT of work and organizing. At this time of year, it includes winterizing, for potential frost while we are away. Apples got harvested a bit too early, but at least we have them before the deer get them. Pumpkins and squash are hoping global warming is in effect. The flowers and pots went into the greenhouse. It is not a permanent situation, but should suffice for this time.

Then today we had a very nice family day, and more get-ready-to be-gone preparations. This evening we were settling in, in our little side room apartment, and we got a knock on the door. Two smiling faces presented us with two freshly made chocolate chip cookies: buttery, gooey, and delicious. One was the biggest cookie and the other the smallest.
They didn’t last long.

Blessed Sunday, and enjoy your October. Inktober, too.
