Lavender Sachets

Be pleased to observe my first attempt to make some dried lavender sachets:

Materials used: dried lavender pieces (courtesy of friend <3), old and stained mostly-cotton shirt (clean), scissors, thread, needle, crochet string with size 7US steel crochet hook (optional)

I used the crochet stuff to make a little edging around the border of my sachets for decoration (shown later below). If you wanted to do a project something like this, you could also use other things to decorate your sachets with, like ribbon or lace, or decorate a different way entirely. :)

I didn't really measure anything out, it was just a random "winging it" kind of project.

just so you can get an idea of how big the mostly-square the squares of the first sachet were before I sewed them together, haha

Stuffed with dried lavender, sewing the last side shut

I used a blanket stitch around, so that...

...I could use the bars over the edges to crochet into with the thread :)

And, here are a couple of finished ones!

I made a couple of different sizes, and they are pretty lumpy! XD

Project in Progress

Baby Card

The little head took a while to sculpt today, and could have used more time, but this needs to be given tomorrow, if I can get it dry overnight and painted before 10 a.m. Push, push.

Complications come when much of my art material is in a different place. Sculpting tools? Try a skewer stick. And your fingernail.

Watercolor 300!

Hummingbird

This uses a combination of very loose brush work in the background, and tight rendering in the subject. But I still do not receive much progress in technique in this medium, so either I need much more practice, or better, some instruction from those experienced, or go back to my previous media. I am going to try some instructional videos, to see if that helps.

Winter jam. 'Tis the season.
Thank you to all who comment.
Sarah Y. – compliments on your current life drawings. That cabinet is especially well observed. And I'd love your help with canning!

Watercolors 297 & 298

Two Versions

These are based on somebody else’s work, which I used as a resource for practice. More is obviously needed.
