Medieval Market

Afternoon Visit

A small town's medieval society was having a festival, which advertised historic brewed beer and wild pig burgers, so it needed to be visited. Some went via modern steed.

The setting was bedecked in color.

This was by the entrance to the market.

A tent of a participant. Many people put a great deal of effort into their settings and costumes.

As were participants and many visitors.

Some were not as colourful in hue as in texture.

Me thinks these two would have been accosted had they appeared so on medieval streets.

This young woman was a stone carver of beautiful works.

A blacksmith and on-looker

A right stalwart knight

We are not sure why the ladies felt obliged to carry weaponry, but maybe her gent lost his.

I was informed that this lady's costume is from a computer game, and therefore elicits sneers.

These brave troopers are on the trail of dastardly townsmen in the midst of assailing fair maidens. The maidens were released and the perpetrators hauled off, for which they can be thankful to be rid of said maidens, for they were quite screechy.

A young pirate assaulting a post with vigour.

A time traveler, I believe.

Equipped for a long stay

The libations and victuals were tasty.

"The Tavern of the Thirsty Wild Sow" where one got his authentic medieval brew.

Served in such a mug, which one could take home, for a  few Thalers.

Wildschwein burger with creamy sauerkraut and pickled carrots on a wood-fired-oven-bun

Various crafts and Interestings were for sale.

If you came improperly attired from another age, the situation could be remedied .

Turned wood forms

Should you need a baptismal font, she would make you one.

Should you want a ride he would turn the wheel for you.

Should your door need a handle or a key....

... or your shop a sign....

.....or your dragon more fire.....All was here.

And a good time was had by all.

Blessed Sunday and have a good week.
