Monday's Temple Tour

Happened Upon

Our goal today was to visit a special temple. On our walk there we came across this interesting gate, that looked inviting, so we braved an entry. No one chased us out.

A tree lined alley led to a temple court yard.

In the courtyard was a shrine....

......and a pretty little garden, and a cemetery.

Nearby was what seemed to be a place for funeral services.

Further On

As walked on we came upon another cemetery, much larger and more grand, in beautiful gardens.

And Planned

Eventually we got to our goal for the afternoon, the Golden Pavillion.
The trees had the same oranges as the temples. The fall light was gorgeous.

Along a path was this mini shrine, of sorts, where people would toss coins, seemingly for good luck if it hit the bowl - at least somebody's good luck if he was cleaning up at the end of the day.

These were dispensers of Fortune Dust

No fortune dust today

So we thought matcha ice cream would do instead.
