Cork and Blarney

Cathedral

The ancient and still very active Fin Barre cathedral of Cork is very much worth a visit. It is Gothic in form, has beautiful colorful Romantic period stained glass windows, Italian mosaic cancel floors, a 4000  pipe organ, most of its furnishing in highly polished brass, marvelous details everywhere, and a wonderfully friendly staff.

Castle and Gardens

The much visited Blarney site sounds like just contortionist kissing of an old rock in some suicidal part of a crumbling castle ruin, but we skipped that and found the rest of the experience most worthwhile. The castle ruin is impressive.

The gardens are envy inducing.

And all the touristy points are still charming.

I have a huge number of photos to share with you later.
