At the Mohren Post

Wangen, Germany

On Sunday we plan to attend German service here, so this time we came early to see the quaint old town.
We are staying at an inn that has been here since at least the 1300’s. The name means the Moor Poststop. Not politically correct these days, but a common ancient name for establishments.
We arrived after dark, so pictures tomorrow, D.v. For now, dinner - very German, very good.

Each kind of beer gets its own glass shape.

The hyacinths smell delightful. The colors of the others are also delightful.

Beef Roulade, slow cooked 36 hours. Marvelous.

The dessert is called Mohr im Hemd (a Moor in a Shirt).

Totally German: Apfelstrudel and vanilla sauce. Hot for a cold day.

…to be continued….
