Holiday Crafting

Marbling

Today is Switzerland’s birthday, so it is a holiday. The visiting sister and nieces had a sudden change of plans, requiring them to leave tomorrow, so we had to hurry to finish our project begun some days ago. It needed additional papers, so we marbled some. Each page is always unique and the effects are most lovely. We used subtle colors to go with the eco dyeing we did earlier.
Here are some papers and the process.

Solvent based colors are dropped into a bath of water, then moved with a wooden skewer to marble them.

A paper is laid on the surface, then lifted off with the color pattern on it.

An additional pull can sometimes be made from the leftover color to get a ghost print.

I will show you next time what we did with them.
