Yes, the same place we were for Easter weekend. This time though is for a gun exhibit. Napoleon III‘s hunting rifles are on display and some of the family want to see them, and others of us enjoy the beautiful gardens and fine dinners. To remind you, this place was the home of Napoleon III and his mother, and eventually was given by his widow to the State. It is now a hotel, bistro, agricultural school, fully automated dairy, etc. The restaurant is no longer in operation, for the same reason others give, “can’t get help.” So we went to nearby town for dinner. Berlingen, on the shore of Lake Constance.
At the restaurant on the right, the Hirschen, we had dinner.
Roses everywhere.
Tomorrow has a Street Food fair of international cuisine.
Today’s was solidly Swiss with a wine from this town. Vineyards everywhere, too.
The lower part of the establishment is an Metzger/butcher, and the restaurant uses those meats. Superb.
A few steps away was sunset over the lake.
The remains of a steamship that blew up.
And did I mention roses?
Gorgeous roses.
More to come after tomorrow’s adventures.
Looks nice
ReplyDeleteTravel and enjoy while you can, especially while you have a spouse to travel with you. It might be different one day, as it is now for me. I’m glad WE did what we did. At least there are memories……
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to see so many beautiful areas that are near you
