On to Mexico

After the wedding, son and I flew down to Mexico City for a visit. I have never been in Mexico, and son lives here, so knows his way around and knows some of the language. Our flight was very delayed, from weather (the great storm in the ocean) and control tower staff shortages. But eventually we arrived.

Today we toured some local gardens, and ate special tacos. 

The tourist office decked out in holiday finery. All Saints Day is coming this weekend, called Day of the Dead in Mexico. Everything is getting colorful, and huge orange marigolds are everywhere. 

Mexicans seem to love their dogs. This is a dog park. We saw huge numbers of dogs of all kinds, including a Mexican hairless. 

And there are parks. Beautiful ones. And tree-lined streets. And green everywhere. There are deciduous trees, and palm trees and banana trees. 

And flowers!
