Epiphany Sunday

St. Gallen Tour

These are pictures from our big day/survived day on Friday. We took our guests first to dinner, because it was late by then, and rain was starting.

The Old Post, where we ate.

One of us had goose liver for an appetizer.

One thought meatloaf was quite the thing. This isn’t the meatloaf - I guess it didn’t warrant a picture, but it tasted great.

Another was dissuaded from Bratwurst (“street food, not for a nice restaurant “) and then chose trout instead.

All of it was very good.

Then we went to our “main event,” visiting the Abbey Library. A first time for all of us. It is worthwhile having visitors, so one makes time to see the things one’s must-do list.

Up a grand marble staircase.

And through grand double doors.

And into a jaw-dropping library. (Or at least it would be, if you were in it, and not looking at my photo. The light was atrocious.)

Very, very Baroque.

To be continued.
