Happy New Year

The Eighth Day of Christmas

On which we observe the Naming of Jesus and His Presentation in the Temple to begin the keeping of the Law.
“Mine eyes have seen Thy Salvation.”

And in which we start fresh in a new year, with new resolves, new energy, and new days to reach our goals.

In the light of God’s grace

A photo sent by a friend, Lake Zug.

And today’s cookies share cheerful blessings and puzzles and pretties from ye olde dayes.

Honig-Tirggel

These are little puzzles. Two pictures on the top of each quarter make a word….

…..then you turn it around and the answer can be read: Haustür, Ofenrohr, etc.

Historical places

And a little aphorism, this about good things from the farm. “From the milkmaid is good to be had, milk and cheese I like to eat.” The title word is Sennerin, the woman who cares for the livestock on the alp.

Wishing you good things in the year ahead, 2024.
