Mermaids and Paper Doll Dresses

The younger girls were drawing on their dry erase boards, and since it's "Mer-May," I asked them to show me some mermaid creations of their own. These are what they came up with:

Sorry about the bad lighting and stuff. The drawings were done and pictures were taken during a bad storm, but I tried to run them through a photo editor to lighten them up a bit. Haha. Didn't work very well.

And Naomi was making more paper doll clothes. I really liked some of them.

(Doll is by Anna. The straps on their undershirts serve as the straps on what look like "sleeveless" dresses, because straps are apparently really hard to cut around and maintain throughout play.)

This one is by Anna, and was Naomi's inspiration for the pink dress above.

So, I was doing really well on keeping up with my Instagram challenge, even sneaking in some extra drawings; but as of Monday, I am officially behind on the days' prompts. I made it most of the month through, at least! Haha! And I'm still going to try to catch up. Might take me a few days, but I'll give it a shot.

I DID finish that pop-up flower card, but I haven't gotten around to photographing it. Maybe I'll share it next week. :)

P.s. My internet was being a jerk and not loading anything right, so I couldn't see the preview. I apologize if the formatting and whatnot turned out all wonky.

  1. I was really, really impressed when I saw these yesterday (but was interrupted before I could comment). Theses are quite some lovely designs in this collection, and they are well rendered in appealing colors. Compliments to the sisters.
The mermaids are cute, too. I have been having thoughts of trying one in 3-D.
