Just Fun

Morning

Mom: "Are you happy that classes are canceled today?"
Son: " Huh? What? No they aren't - wait ... are they? How do you know? Really?
Mom:" Well, aren't you happy about that, so you don't have to go in to the city?
Son: I don't get it. They can't be.. or are they.. What's going on?
Mom: "It's April first."

Simple Tricks for Today

Food dyes in drinks or toothpaste.

Mixed up food: meatloaf muffins and potato frosting. Cookies in a chips bag.

Live food: wiggle eyes glued on and faces drawn on things in the fridge.

No good luck: money on the ground, super-glued down.
 "A new iPad!"
"Ohhhhhh......"

What got you today?

Spring

At least the outside has no tricks for us. After a misty shower this morning, the flowers are blooming nicely and more seed trays have sprouted.

How is your day?

  1. Your flowers are so pretty... still waiting for some around here.

So far I have googley-eyed all the things in the fridge. That was a hit. Then the boys were quite offended when their milk rolled out of their cups and hit them in the nose. And I just realized that I inadvertently bought my poor husband decaf coffee... so that prank made itself.

Coming up later, the boys saw that I bought a pack of gum yesterday and I said no when then begged for it. "Maybe tomorrow." Last night I replaced it with play-dough. Also, I messed up Jonah's iPad pretty good with screen-shots so he'll swipe through the same thing over and over, but no apps will open. None of those things until after school work is done, so maybe they'll forget by then what day it is...

  2. You girls are having way too much fun. Maybe it should be called Mama's Payback Day.
All in my household are leaving early this morning, (art school and then boys trekking north to visit big sister) so I don't get to do any paybacks. But I'll have to be cautious in case they leave anything behind for me.

  3. What fun, Katie! How does milk roll out of cups and hit them in the nose? Frozen?
Pam - did anybody leave anything behind?
(I had no computer or time before now - so am catching up.)

  4. I gelled with with gelatin in the cups the night before. They wouldn't even try a spoonful of "milk jello" they were so repulsed... :-D

  6. Hmmm... I might agree - gelled milk. Unless one thinks of it as pudding. Clever idea anyway.
