Georgia, Day One, continued

Evening

After dinner we went for a night walk to settle the digestion.
It was late, but the little shops were still open.

Most people leave the cities in the hot summer, so not many people were around, but we heard some tourists.
We meandered around and came to the back of the Trinity church we had admired through dinner. But first, we followed the sound of some tapping - “ It sounds like a stone worker.” It was. An amazing one. A quiet humble fellow, doing his service to the Lord in hour after hour of stone carving. Exquisite work, and every part different.

The little open shed where he works, at 10:00 on a Saturday night.

His piece in progress.

A finished piece. “ One hundred day’s work.” These are for renovations.

Then we went to look at the church for which they intended.

More to follow.
