St Nicholas Day
The sixth of December is St. Nicholas Day, which in Europe is celebrated almost everywhere, albeit with varying traditions. Here in Switzerland it is a day for St. Nicks to appear in stores and clubs and homes, sometimes with Schmutzli, a black-robed figure with switches for bad children. For good children, who can recite a poem for the Saint, there are jute bags with nuts, fruit and candies.

OOH! And that reminds me that I now have those little pipes and can make some of those bread guys! Are those linked with St. Nicholas Day, or are they just general Advent/Christmas treats?
