Advent 6

Beads

Today's angel is the first of a series I did in October, to fill the pockets of an Advent calendar I was sending to the States for a sister. Empty pockets wouldn't do. So the next 20-some days here will, God willing, show the various fillers for those pockets.

Message

Isaiah has a verse that shows how quantities of little things add up, like beads on a wire, to an ordained conclusion, whether refreshment or judgment.
"He said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little......
This is a good thing of which to be mindful in our lives, that all the accumulation of our little thoughts, words, and deeds make us what we are, form our children, and color our lives.

Now
Because the sun is finally shining, the horses get to go out now; and because tonight has an office Christmas dinner scheduled; and because we were treated to some art work from young artists; I won't spend much time here today.

Enjoy your Advent day 6.

  1. Hello Rose Kate. I am a Pastor from Mumbai, INDIA. I am so glad to know that your husband is also a Pastor. I am glad to stop by your blog post. What a message from Isaiah and a beautiful fitting neckless speaks of the message Isaiah has. I am truly blessed and feel privileged and honored to get connected with you and also know you and your family too. I love getting connected with the people of God around the globe to be encouraged, strengthened and praying for one another. I have been in the PASTORAL MINISTRY for last 37 yrs in this great city of Mumbai a city with a great contrast where richerst of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reachout to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the brokenhearted. We also encourage young and the audlts from the west toc ome to Mumbai to work with us durig their vacation time. We would love to have young people from your church to come to MUMBAI to work with us during their vacation time. I am sure they will have a life changing experience. God willing I will be in the united States in the month of May/ June and will be so glad to stop by your place as I am planning to visit Michigan State. Looking forward to hear from you very soon. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmail(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede. God's richest blessings on you, your family and ministry.
