Rebecca and Re-purpose

 Rebecca

Today's figure for the Jesse tree is Rebecca, the wife "from among our people" for Isaac. She was something of a schemer, but evidently she was beautiful and did her duty as wife and mother, and is honored with a place in Jesus' earthly lineage.

Verses for today
Genesis 24
Genesis 25: 20 - 28
Genesis 26 : 6 - 11, 34, 35
Genesis 27: 6 - 17, 42 -46

Repurposing

When  a festival is past, and one has dozens of leftovers from it, what is one to do? Our baker had lots of  little Grittibänze left, so she put them in the big bag of old bread she gives us for our horses. I dry all of it and feed it to them - they love it. Happy Chlaus days, Horses.

Advent Calendars

Behind one window today was this Eichhornchen (a tuft-eared squirrel)

And another in the Christmas book -

Maybe Maria will give a translation better than mine - it's about candle light and wood's scents at Christmastime

The storybook for today was Snow White, with some unusual illustrations.

Glass

Yesterday I made two more glass plates. They look like this unfired:

In mostly whites. It shows up better on a color.

A quick one.

  1. The saying in the Christmas book is already confusing in German. In English it'd be something like "Gently, like candlelight, mild like the scent of the forest, flows the Christmas season..."
I don't know Joachim Ringelnatz, but I'm pretty sure I don't like his writing.
